Fig. 01 — The aim behind the chart
Our aim at MarineKPI is to use technology to save time, put the right information in front of the right person, and have the analysis already done — so decisions, on board and ashore, get made on facts, not on whatever could be pulled together in time.
The fastest way to get a fleet's attention on what matters is to stop asking it to reassemble the picture from scratch, every time someone asks.
More data was never the goal. The right data — already connected, already analysed — so nobody has to go looking for it.
A decision made on the complete picture is a different decision than one made on whatever could be found in time. That gap is where MarineKPI sits.
The Master filing the report while still running the ship. The Superintendent answering to owners, charterers and flag — often for the same finding, three different times. The Auditor whose only job is to confirm whether the ship and company are fit, nothing personal in how it lands.
Different pressures. Every one of them professional, every one of them doing exactly what the role requires.
MarineKPI is built to give each of those roles due regard — not to make one side's job easier at another's expense, but to help everyone draw the best out of doing it.
Over 30 years at sea and ashore, I've seen — and done — TMSA, SIRE, PSC, Navigation, ISM and more, first as the auditee, later as the consultant on the other side of the table. MarineKPI isn't built from the outside looking in. It's built from having stood on both sides of the same finding, more times than I can count.
